Motion to approve Resolution No. 102-21 authorizing a State Highway Lighting, Maintenance, and Compensation Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for the maintenance and operation of the lighting on the State Highway System.

 

Body

Background:

The City of Delray Beach (City) maintains and operates the lighting and lighting systems located on the State Highway System within the jurisdictional boundaries of the City. This contract defines the City’s responsibilities for maintaining and operating these lights and the FDOT responsibility to pay the City annually, the total payment to the City for the current Fiscal Year is $195,660.30.  Prior to the beginning of each fiscal year, the City shall submit an updated Exhibit A as necessary to update facilities and costs. 

 

This agreement with FDOT has a term of seven (7) years.

 

City Attorney Review:

Approved as to form and legal sufficiency.

 

Funding Source/Financial Impact:

Under this agreement, the FDOT will pay the City annually for the operation and maintenance of lighting on the State Highway System.

 

Timing of Request:

This item is time sensitive as it provides a reimbursement for services to be received in Fiscal Year 2020/2021.
