Special Events Technical Advisory Committee (SETAC) recommends the Development Service Management Group (DSMG) deny the special event known as Bounce Block Party to be held on March 15, 2025.

Body

Background:

Bounce Sporting Club Delray submitted a Special Event Application on January 28, 2025 for the event Bounce Block Party to be held on March 15, 2025 on NE 3rd Ave from Atlantic Ave to SE 1st Street. The event and road closure will be going on simultaneously with the St. Patrick's Day Parade closure.  This is the first time Bounce will be holding this event.  The event will feature a small riser for live performances, a dunk tank,  a mechanical bull, vendor tents, high top tables and few outside bars.  The event will take place from 10:00 am - 7:00 pm.  The producer is expecting about 500 people in attendance. The application was reviewed by SETAC on February 6, 2025.

Special Event Technical Advisory Committee (SETAC):

SETAC was unanimous in their vote to recommend denial of this application. The police department stated that they could not staff the event while the St. Patrick's Day Parade was going on, and would be unable to staff the event until after the parade at 2:30pm.  Public works stated that the crew is already working a very long day to set up and break down the St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival and this would require staff to stay even later for...
