Staff recommends the approval of this amendment to the existing ordinance that will bring our city ordinance up to date with the updated Florida Fire Prevention Code.

Background:
The City of Delray Beach Fire Rescue Department has through local ordinance adopted the Florida Fire and Life Safety Code. The State Fire Marshal’s office updates the Florida Fire Prevention code every 3 years when the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) releases the new edition of the NFPA Fire code. Amending our existing ordinance will ensure that our ordinance is referencing the most up to date and applicable fire code.
City Attorney Review:
Approved as to form and legal sufficiency.
Funding Source/Financial Impact:
There is no cost to the city for this amended ordinance.
Timing of Request:
This amended ordinance would go in effect on January 1, 2024.
