Motion to approve the Collective Bargaining Agreements between the City of Delray Beach and the Professional Fire Fighter Of Delray Beach, IAFF Local 1842 Inc. For Rank-And-File Bargaining Unit

Background:
City Staff has tentatively agreed to a one-year collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between the City of Delray Beach and the Professional Fire Fighter Of Delray Beach, IAFF Local 1842 Inc. For Rank-And-File Bargaining Unit. This CBA will be in effect from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027.
A summary of the key changes are as follows:

1. Salaries (Article 13-A-FR): The established salary step plan provides for a three and one-half percent (3.5%) cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), effective October 1. On their anniversary date, all eligible employees shall advance to the next step corresponding to their years of service, up through Step 14.

2. Salaries (Article 13-B-OR): The established salary step plan provides for a three and one-half percent (3.5%) cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), effective October 1. On their anniversary date, all eligible employees shall advance to the next step corresponding to their years of service, up through Step 13.

Fire Rank and File & Ocean Rescue COLA (3.5%) - $1,403,639
FY 26/27 Total - $ 1,403,639


The COLA increase is consistent with that being granted to all City General Employees
on October 1, 2026.
