Motion for Award to Odyssey Manufacturing Company (Odyssey) for the purchase and delivery of sodium hypochlorite for use at the Water Treatment Plant in the production of potable water, in an annual not to exceed amount of $350,000, utilizing the City of Sanibel, Florida contract, subject to annual renewals by the City of Sanibel, and subject to future annual divisional operating budget appropriations.

Background:
Sodium Hypochlorite (bleach) is used as a disinfectant in the water treatment process. In 2013, City Commission approved an award to Odyssey utilizing the City of Eustis contract. The City of Eustis contract had a term of three years, through June 21, 2016, and provided the sodium hypochlorite at a unit price of $0.74/gallon. During the contract period, Odyssey has provided a quality product and met required delivery schedules.
In March 2016, the City of Sanibel, Florida initiated a bid for sodium hypochlorite services, which resulted in an award to Odyssey for the purchase and delivery of sodium hypochlorite at a unit price of $0.74/gallon, for a term of three years, through May 2019. Odyssey has agreed to extend the City of Sanibel contract terms to the City of Delray Beach.
The recommendation for award utilizing another governmental entities contract is in compliance with the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36, Section 36.02(C)(7)(c), "Utilization of Other Governmental Entities’ Contracts". The vendor has submitted a lowest pricing letter.
