Motion to approve the Host Facility Agreement with the United States Tennis Association, Inc. (USTA) to host and sponsor the Davis Cup Tie Event September 12-13, 2025.

 

Body

Background:

The Davis Cup, often called the "World Cup of Tennis", is an annual international men's tennis event organized by the International Tennis Federation. It is the largest international team competition in sport and in 2024 had 157 nations participate. It is a prestigious event giving players the opportunity to represent their countries in what is usually an individual sport.

 

On March 11, 2025, the City Commission approved to bid on the host and sponsorship of up to $490,000.00 in a combination of in-kind services including, but not limited to, waiving of fees for staffing, security services, Fire Rescue services, PD services, power, lighting, etc.,. Included in the total is the $75,000.00 commitment from the Palm Beach County Sports Commission.

 

The event set-up and breakdown will be from September 1-15, 2025 and the two-day tournament will take place on September 12-13, 2025 - with a possible rain delay date of September 14, 2025.
