Motion to approve Resolution No. 183-23 and to retroactively approve an Agreement with Allied Universal Corp., for the purchase and delivery of sodium hypochlorite in the estimated total amount of $1,120,000 ($560,000 respectively per year) through August 31, 2025, utilizing the City of Ft. Lauderdale, Cooperative Bid ITB Event No. 139, and authorize the City Manager to approve renewal options, in the amount below, contingent on appropriations of funds.

Background:
On June 22, 2023, the City of Ft. Lauderdale served as “lead agency” on a cooperative solicitation ITB Event No. 139, on behalf of the Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Cooperative (Co-op). Allied Universal Corporation was deemed the lowest and responsible bidder. The City of Delray Beach (City) is a member of this Co-op. The bid award provided an initial contact term of two years (2) years, effective September 1, 2023, through August 31, 2025, with up to (2) additional one-year renewals.
Sodium Hypochlorite (bleach) is added to finish water and used as a disinfectant in the water treatment process.
This motion is in accordance with the Code of Ordinances Chapter 36, Commission Approval Required and Purchasing Policies.
