Staff recommends the City enter into an agreement with Cambridge Security Services, Inc. to allow that company to provide basic and advanced life support medical services to the residents of Delaire Country Club prior to the arrival of Delray Beach Fire Rescue units.

Background:
Delaire Country Club is a gated community located in the southwestern portion of the city. Delaire contracts with Cambridge Security Services, Inc. to provide private security and initial medical response to their residents. The Fire Rescue Department was approached by Cambridge Security Services, Inc. to enter into an agreement, allowing their personnel to provide basic and advanced medical procedures prior to the arrival of Delray Beach Fire Rescue units.
This agreement provides a clear delineation of the services that Cambridge can provide prior to the city’s Fire Rescue personnel arriving. This relationship will ensure a continuity of care for the residents of Delaire Country Club and allow Cambridge Security Services to apply for a special secondary certificate of public convenience and necessity (COPCN) from the Palm Beach Board of County Commissioners.
City Attorney Review:
Approved as to form and legal sufficiency.
Funding Source/Financial Impact:
There is no financial impact to the City of Delray Beach. Cambridge Security Services, Inc. retains the responsibility for liability insurance and other expenses that are part of their services.
