MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH FIRE RESCUE AND THE CITIES OF BOYNTON BEACH FIRE RESCUE AND BOCA RATON FIRE RESCUE

Recommendation

Motion to approve the mutual aid agreement between the City of Delray Beach Fire Rescue and the City of Boynton Beach Fire Rescue and between the City of Delray Beach Fire Rescue and the City of Boca Raton Fire Rescue.

 

Body

Background:

The mutual aid agreements between the City of Delray Beach Fire Rescue and the neighboring municipalities, Boynton Beach Fire Rescue to the north and Boca Raton Fire Rescue to the south of Delray Beach, are expiring September 30, 2016.  The agreements are established to provide emergency services for mutual assistance and automatic aid.  The agreements are set on a ten year renewal cycle.

 

City Attorney Review:

Approved as to form and legal sufficiency.

 

Finance Department Review:

Finance recommends approval.

 

Timing of Request:

The current agreement will be expiring on September 30, 2016.
