Motion to approve application for the FY 2024 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant in the amount of $ $31,034.

Background:

The Police Department is asking approval to apply for the 2024 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant in the amount of $ $31,034. If awarded, these funds will assist in funding police overtime for the annual Holiday Robbery Task Force.

 

City Attorney Review:

Approved as to form and legal sufficiency.

 

Funding Source/Financial Impact:

The reimbursable overtime for FY 24/25 is funded in 001-21-150-521.14-20 (Field Operations - Reimbursable Overtime) and 001-21-110-521.14-20 (Special Services - Reimbursable Overtime) accounts. If application is approved and grant awarded, reimbursement is provided through the U.S. Department of Justice's Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program.
