Recommendation

Motion to approve Resolution No. 108-25, authorizing the City to enter into an agreement with Fire-Dex GW, LLC for firefighter bunker gear cleaning, repair, and inspection services. This agreement is executed as a piggyback contract utilizing Seminole County IFB 604457-22/TKH in accordance with Section 25 of the City’s Purchasing Policies and Procedures Manual.

Body

Background:

The Delray Beach Fire Rescue Department (DBFR) requires routine cleaning, repair, and inspection of firefighter bunker gear in accordance with NFPA 1851 standards. These services are essential for maintaining the health and safety of fire personnel and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Seminole County, Florida, competitively bid IFB 604457-22/TKH and awarded a contract to Fire-Dex GW, LLC for these services. The City of Delray Beach now seeks to utilize this contract through a piggyback agreement to benefit from the established pricing and service structure.

The proposed agreement has a term ending January 23, 2026, with two optional one-year renewals contingent on Seminole County’s renewal of the underlying contract. The total contract value is not to exceed $180,000, with anticipated expenditures of up to $60,000 per fiscal year. Standard clauses are included for termination, indemnification, public records compliance, and Inspector General access.
