Motion to Approve a Best Interest Resolution No. 26-17 and enter into an agreement for purchase and installation of fitness equipment at Barwick Park, from PlayCore Wisconsin, Inc. dba GameTime by authorizing the use of the U.S. Communities Contract Number 110179 issued by City of Charlotte as the lead agency in a not-to-exceed maximum amount of $90,000 and declaring by a four-fifths affirmative vote that the City sealed competitive method or written quotations method is not in the best interest of the City.

Background:
On September 17, 2010 U.S. Communities issued an agreement to PlayCore Wisconsin, Inc. dba GameTime Contract Number 110179. The Contract has been renewed through September 16, 2017. The City of Charlotte, North Carolina was the lead agency for U.S. Communities. The City of Delray Beach is currently registered as a Participating Public Agency with the U.S. Communities Governmental Purchasing Alliance which aggregates the purchasing power of more than 90,000 public agencies nationwide through competitively solicited contracts between a supplier and a lead public agency.

The City of Delray Beach Parks & Recreation Department is partnering with two Atlantic High School Seniors, Talia Vessal and Christelle Singh, to develop a fitness area at Barwick Park located at the corner of Lake Ida and Barwick Rd. In September, the students proposed a plan to replace the old exercise equipment with four separate exercise areas with the goal of encouraging the surrounding community to "get out and get fit".
