Staff recommends the approval of the ordinance to increase the safety of our residents, visitors, and business owners. The AED will increase survivability in the case of a cardiac arrest and the bleeding control kits will allow first aid to be rendered prior to the arrival of Fire Rescue.

Background:
The City of Delray Beach has a dense population, an active business district, many tourists, and over 900 city employees. Approval of this ordinance will increase the safety to all.

BIE has been reviewed and approved by Finance and Legal.
