Title
SERVICE AUTHORIZATION NO. 12-22 TO KIMLEY-HORN AND ASSOCIATES, INC. IN THE NOT TO EXCEED AMOUNT OF $4,000 FOR A STOP CONTROL WARRANT ANALYSIS
Body
Recommended Action:
Recommendation
Motion to Approve Service Authorization No. 12-22 to Kimley-Horn and Associates, in an amount not-to-exceed $4,000.00, for engineering consulting services to conduct a stop control warrant analysis.
Body
Background:
The intersection of SW 1st Street and SW 3rd Avenue is currently controlled by two-way stop control. Due to traffic safety concerns, the City's Principal Transportation Professional (Traffic Engineer) is recommending that a stop control analysis be completed to determine if all-way stop control is warranted for this intersection. Since the streets and traffic staff in the Public Works Division are not trained to collect the data required for this type of analysis, outsourcing this analysis is recommended.
On January 17, 2012, City Commission approved a multi-year contract to Kimley Horn and Associates for general consulting engineering services (RFQ No. 2012-06). On December 13, 2016, City Commission approved extensions to these agreements through June 30, 2017.
This recommendation complies with the City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36, Section 36.06(A) (2), "Within the Scope of Work".
