Background:
Consistent with the terms of the recently ratified Collective Bargaining Agreements between the City and the Palm Beach County Police Benevolent Association for the Police Officers and Sergeants bargaining unit as well as the bargain unit for the Lieutenants, this Ordinance implements the provisions concerning the Deferred Retirement Option Plan extension from five years to eight years as well as the changes in member contributions for those employees who elect to participate in the DROP for an period in excess of 60 months.
