Proclaim May 2026 as Small Business Month in Delray Beach, Florida

Background:
Small Business Month is dedicated to supporting local small businesses across the country. The Delray Beach Office of Economic Development, the Delray Beach Downtown Development
Authority (DDA) and the Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce, and the Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) continue to support and promote our booming small business economy in our City.
Residents and visitors are also encouraged to shop local with Delray Beach merchants during this month and throughout the year to boost the local economy. When we shop
local, our community’s wealth and prosperity is increased since for every $1 spent locally it is re-circulated at least three (3) more times. By shopping locally, we also help create jobs and drive
local charitable giving. Surveys have shown that nearly 75% of small business owners donate some portion of their profits to charitable organizations each year.
