Motion to approve a purchase of one(1) 75 foot fire ladder truck from Ten-8 Fire Equipment Inc. Inc. in the amount of $832,251.

Background:
Environmental Services is requesting approval to purchase one (1) 75 foot Pierce fire ladder truck from Ten-8 Fire Equipment Inc. using the Florida Sheriff's Association Contract #15-11-0116, Specification #8. Please find attached for your review the letter indicating the best price from Ten-8 Fire Equipment Inc. The total cost for the replacement ladder truck is $832,251. This purchase is in accordance with the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36, Section 36.02 (C)(7)(a), Utilization of Other Governmental Entities' Contracts.

The ladder truck to be replaced is a 2005 Pierce Skyboom Pumper Apparatus, equipped with a 61’ elevated water tower and ladder. This truck has accrued 101,000 miles. The life-to-date costs for maintenance and repairs has reached $375,000. It has served as a Front Line Fire Apparatus for 10 years, and upon replacement will be moved to Reserve Engine status which will allow the City to have an additional resource for maintaining an adequate level of service.

Finance recommends approval. Finance recocmmends leasing the apparatus using either the lease quote from the equipment manufacturer or the Bank of America finance lease program approved by the Commission on May 5, 2015 in a competitive bid process.
