Motion to Award a purchase to Alan Jay Fleet Sales in the amount of $113,271.25 utilizing the Florida Sheriff’s Association Contract #15-13-0904, Specification #9 for one (1) Ford F550 Truck with an Altec Aerial Bucket for use by Clean & Safe. This recommendation is in compliance with the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36, Section 36.02 (C)(7)(a), “Utilization of Other Governmental Entities' Contracts”. Funding is available from 501-3312-591-64.25 (Fleet Maintenance/Heavy Equipment).

Background:
Community Improvement and Environmental Services is requesting approval to purchase one (1) new Altec Aerial Bucket on a new 2016 Ford F-550 Cab and Chassis, using Florida Sherriff’s Association Contract #15-13-0904, Specification No. 9. Please find attached for your review the letter indicating the best price from Alan Jay Fleet Sales. The new Altec Aerial Bucket on a new 2016 Ford F-550 Cab and Chassis is to replace existing truck #6204 assigned to Clean and Safe. The total expense for the replacement is $113,271.25. This purchase is in accordance with the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36, Section 36.02 (C)(7)(a), Utilization of Other Governmental Entities' Contracts.
The bucket/aerial device on truck 6204 was purchased from USA Lift in 2005. It has been remounted on two different truck chassis in its’ service life, and has reached the end of its’ life expectancy. This Aerial Bucket Truck is used heavily for the maintenance and repairs to the City owned street lights as part of the Clean and Safe program, as well as for changing banners and holiday decorations as required.
