Body

Recommended Action:

Recommendation

Motion to approve on second reading Ordinance No. 25-15, the Ten (10) Year Water Supply Facilities Work Plan, and the associated Comprehensive Plan Amendments.

Body

Background:

The item before the City Commission is the second reading of Ordinance No. 25-15. This ordinance is for the adoption of the 10-Year Water Supply Facilities Work Plan and the associated Comprehensive Plan amendment. The plan, written by Kimley-Horn, was prepared in compliance with the 2013 Lower East Coast Water Supply Plan Update that was adopted by the South Florida Water Management District.

The plan and the associated Comprehensive Plan Update have been reviewed by staff and was reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Board at its September 21, 2015 public hearing and upon first reading by the City Commission on October 20, 2015.

As required by the State, the draft plan and associated Comprehensive Plan amendment has been forwarded to the Department of Economic Opportunity and other state and regional agencies. Their review letters are attached.

Ordinance No. 25-15 was approved by the City Commission on first reading at the October 20, 2015 City Commission Regular Meeting.
