Recommended Action:
Recommendation
Motion to Approve an Agreement with Line-Tech, Inc. utilizing the City of Boynton Beach Contract Bid No. 050-2821-13/JMA in an amount not-to-exceed $191,000 for connecting utility customers to the recently completed area 12B reclaimed water system (Project No. 17-018).

Body
Background:
On July 16, 2013 the City of Boynton Beach awarded a contract with Line-Tec, Inc. for Supply and Installation of Water Service Connections and Restorations. The contract was valid from July 17, 2013 through July 16, 2015 with renewal options. Renewals have been issued by City of Boynton Beach extending the contract period through July 16, 2017.

The Area 12B Reclaimed Water System project was completed in the Fall of 2016. The project consisted of installing transmission and distribution piping for the conveyance of reclaimed water to the southern portion of the Barrier Island, from Casuarina Road south to Poinsettia Road. The scope of work will consist of installing new City furnished water meters, installation of backflow devices, and modifying the customer’s existing irrigation system for connection to the reclaimed system. Utilizing City of Boynton Beach contract pricing, Line-Tec has provided a quote in the amount of $186,929.50. The quote is based on an estimated 178 service connections. A contingency of $4,070.50 is requested to cover any additional parts, supplies or installations required to complete this project.

This recommendation complies with the City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36, Section 36.02(C)(7), “Utilization of Other Governmental Entities’ Contracts”.
