Title
APPROVAL OF A PURCHASE AWARD FROM MUSCO SPORTS LIGHTING, LLC. UTILIZING THE CLAY COUNTY CONTRACT NO. 13/14-8

Body
Recommended Action:
Recommendation
Motion to Approve a purchase award from Musco Sports Lighting, LLC for Merritt Park lighting in the amount of $181,950 using the Board of County Commissioners of Clay County Contract No.13/14-8.

Body
Background:
On January 29, 2014, the Board of County Commissioners of Clay County, Florida issued a three-year contract with Musco Sports Lighting, LLC (RFP No. 13/14-8). The contract is effective through February 11, 2018 with one remaining one-year renewal option.

The replacement of the lighting system at Merritt Park was approved by Commission in the Capital Improvement Plan on September, 2016. Merritt Park is currently under renovation converting two baseball fields to one multi-purpose field with celebration grass and also upgrading the restroom facility. As a result of this renovation, it is expected that usage by teams and leagues will increase for soccer, lacrosse, and football games. The existing lights are over thirty years old and no longer illuminate the field at the footcandle amount required by the various league and tournament governing bodies, thus creating the potential for hazardous conditions during games and tournament play that takes place at Merritt Park.

Musco will replace existing lighting at Merritt Park with an energy efficient, cost effective SportsCluster Green lighting solution. The cost quoted by Musco for this project is $181,950 and will include: shipping, installation, warranty, the luminaire assemblies which are 1500 watt metal halide luminaires with guaranteed constant light level of 40 footcandles for 10 years, contactor cabinet, electrical engineering, and Control Link Control & Monitoring System.
