Motion to Award an Agreement with Strobes-R-Us, Inc. for multiple purchases of emergency lights, flasher modules, lightbars and other vehicle equipment and services utilizing Broward County Sheriff’s Office’s Contract No. 13104030 in a total not-to-exceed amount of $100,000 for Fiscal Year 2017.

Background:

On August 10, 2013 the Broward County Sheriff's Department issued a two-year contract with two, one-year renewal options to Strobes-R-Us for emergency equipment for law enforcement vehicles. On August 2, 2016 Broward County Sheriff's Department exercised the second and final renewal option to extend the contract through August 10, 2017.  The Fleet Division in the Environmental Services Department has on-going requirements for this equipment and services in order to properly maintain the City fleet of public safety vehicles and is requesting approval to utilize the Broward County Sheriff's Department Contract No. 13104030.

 

Spending amount for the last three years

 

2016 - $143,028.28

2015 - $170,189.76

2014 - $148,316.86

 

This recommendation complies with the City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36,  Section 36.02 (C)(7),  “Utilization of Other Governmental Entities’ Contract”.

Approved as to form and legal sufficiency.

 

Finance Department Review:

Finance recommends approval.

 

Funding Source:

Funding is available from 501-3311-591.52-50  (Central Garage Fund: Central Garage Inventory-Parts) and 501-3311-591.52-52 (Central Garage Fund: Central Garage-Outside Service).
