Recommendation

Motion to Approve Amendment No. 3 to extend the Agreement with Ameristar Parking Solutions, LLC through May 29, 2017 for parking facility management in a not to exceed amount of $169,600.

Body

Background:

On December 8, 2015, City Commission approved the award of an Agreement for Parking Facility Management to Ameristar Parking Solutions, LLC (Resolution No. 80-15, RFP 2014-25).  On September 30, 2016, the City Manager extended the Agreement for a period of ninety days, extending the contract term through December 31, 2016 and on December 6, 2016, the City Commission extended the Agreement through February 28, 2017.  In order to facilitate the time required to finalize agreement negotiations, City staff is requesting an additional extension of the Parking Facility Management Agreement through May 29, 2017.  Extending this agreement will also allow time for mobilization and implementation by the new parking management services contractor and will  provide for a smoother transition process for the City as well as its residents and visitors.
