Motion to Approve Service Authorization No. 12-28 with Kimley-Horn and Associates in the amount of $89,250.13 for engineering design services related to the production of a complete set of pedestrian bridge construction plans for the proposed Lowson Boulevard Pedestrian Bridge project (Project No. 17-004).

Body
Background:
On January 17, 2012, City Commission approved a multi-year contract with Kimley-horn and Associates (KHA) for general consulting engineering services (RFQ No. 2012-06). On December 13, 2016, City Commission approved an extension of this Agreement through June 30, 2017. KHA will prepare the design documents for construction of pedestrian bridge for the proposed Lowson Boulevard Pedestrian Bridge Project. The pedestrian bridge design is part of the bicycle lane addition for Lowson Boulevard and the first phase of design. The total compensation for the services provided under this contract are anticipated to be in the amount of $89,250.13.

The recommendation for award is in compliance with Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36, Section 36.02(C)(3). The City utilizes approved engineering consultants retained through RFQ No. 2012-06. The original agreement, with the Consultant, was executed in January 2012. This recommendation complies with the City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36, Section 36.06(A)(1), "Beyond Scope of Work".
