Recommended Action:
Recommendation
Motion to Award three-year Agreements to Currie Sowards Aguila Architects, Inc., Walter Zackria Associates, PLLC, Song & Associates, Inc. and BEA Architects, Inc., for Continuing General Architectural Consulting Services.

Body
Background:
On November 10, 2016, the City advertised RFQ No. 2017-010 for Continuing General Architectural Consulting Service). Four proposals were received from Currie Sowards Aguila Architects, Inc., Walter Zackria Associates, PLLC, Song & Associates, Inc. and BEA Architects, Inc. All four companies were deemed responsive and responsible. The proposals were evaluated based upon the criteria in the RFP. All four companies’ scores were within a competitive range after the initial technical evaluations and there were no significant clarifications or further explanations of qualifications needed by the committee. Therefore, the committee elected not to conduct interviews. Contract negotiations were performed with all four companies regarding their respective hourly rates. Based on the number of anticipated projects over the Agreement term and diversity of types of projects required by the City, staff is recommending approval to award Agreements to all four companies. The Agreement term is three years from May 24, 2017 through May 23, 2020 with two, one-year options to renew.

This recommendation complies with the City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36, Section 36.02 (A)(1), “Competitive Bids".
