Motion to Approve an Agreement with A-Excellent Service, Inc. utilizing the City of Deerfield Beach, Contract RFP #2013-14/16, in an amount not-to-exceed $250,000 for HVAC Maintenance and Repair Services.

Background:
On June 1, 2014, the City of Deerfield Beach awarded a contract to A-Excellent Service, Inc. for HVAC Maintenance and Repair Services. The contract was valid from June 1, 2014 through May 31, 2017 with two one-year renewal options. On February 21, 2017 the City of Deerfield Beach exercised the first renewal option extending the contract period through May 31, 2018.
The City requires HVAC preventative maintenance services in order to maintain the HVAC systems at City facilities in working order. Additionally, due to the age of many of the HVAC systems, periodic repair services are needed to restore the units to operational status. The Environmental Services Department Building Maintenance Division is requesting the City enter into an agreement with A-Excellent Service, Inc. to provide these types of services in a not-to-exceed amount of $250,000 per year based on the pricing set forth in City of Deerfield Beach, Contract RFP #2013-14/16. The City's spend for HVAC repairs and parts for the past three years is as follows:
FY2014 $165,698
FY2015 $202,940
FY2016 $264,060
This recommendation complies with the City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36, Section 36.02(C)(7), “Utilization of Other Governmental Entities’ Contracts.”
