Motion to Approve Service Authorization No. 12-32 to Baxter & Woodman Company d/b/a Mathews Consulting in the amount not-to-exceed $42,530 for the CEI services related to the installation of the 100' aluminum holiday tree (Project No. 17-062).

Background:
On January 24, 2012, the City entered into an Agreement with Mathews Consulting for continuing general engineering consulting services (RFQ 2012-06). On December 13, 2016 City Commission approved the assignment and assumption of the Mathews Agreement to Baxter and Woodman Company and renewal of the agreement through June 2017. Under this service authorization the consultant will provide professional engineering services related to construction, engineering, and inspection services. Total estimated cost for services under Service Authorization No. 12-32 is in the amount not to exceed $42,530. All tasks will be completed by November 30, 2017.
The City is proposing to construct the new foundation, electrical, and site improvements for the new 100' holiday tree. This service authorization provides full time construction administration and inspection services along with required public outreach for the 100' holiday tree project. The project area is bounded on the north by NE 1st Street, south by East Atlantic Avenue, east by NE 2nd Avenue, and west by North Swinton Avenue.
This recommendation complies with the City Code of Ordinances.

Funding is available from account number 001-2911-519.31-30 (General Fund: Engineering/Architect) after budget transfer is approved.
Timing of Request:
Overseeing and inspecting the construction of the new foundation, electrical, and site improvements for the new 100' holiday tree is necessary in order to keep the project on schedule.
