Body

Recommended Action:

Recommendation

Motion to Approve the Interlocal Agreement between the City of Delray Beach and the School Board of Palm Beach County for the mutual use of recreational facilities.

Body

Background:

The current Interlocal Agreement between the City of Delray Beach and the School Board of Palm Beach County for the mutual use of recreational facilities was initiated in June 2012 and will expire on June 30, 2017. Both the School Board of Palm Beach County and the City of Delray Beach Parks and Recreation Departments have reviewed and agree to the terms noted in the attached Interlocal Agreement. The purpose of this Agreement is to enable the School Board and the City to utilize each other's recreational facilities and provide a procedure for authoring the use of the Board's recreational facilities by City-affiliated recreation groups and organizations that have been approved by the parties.

City Attorney Review:

Approved as to form and legal sufficiency.

Finance Department Review:

Finance recommends approval.

Funding Source:

Any fees associated with use of the School Board facilities for Parks and Recreation activities will be funded through the Parks and Recreation Department budget.

Timing of Request:

This is time sensitive as the existing ILA will expire at the end of June 2017. The School Board of Palm Beach County is scheduled to approve this ILA at their June 21, 2017 meeting.
