Motion to Award a construction Agreement to Callaway Marine Technologies, Inc. for the Veterans Park seawall repair and dock replacement in a total amount not-to-exceed amount of $585,178.80.

Background:
On February 27, 2017, an Invitation to Bid Construction, No. 2017-044, Veterans Park Seawall Repair and Dock Replacement was advertised. Six responsive and responsible bids were received. The name of each of the firms, and the total construction amounts submitted by each firm is as follows:

In addition to the Total Evaluated Base Bid Price of $497,310.00 submitted by Callaway Marine Technologies, Inc., the firm also submitted the following amounts for each Alternate Bid Item:

The Environmental Services Department is requesting to add the Alternate Bid Items stated herein to the construction Agreement. Therefore, the Agreement staff is presenting to Commission is for a not-to-exceed amount of $585,178.80. This project includes the construction of a new seawall cap and the complete replacement of the two marginal docks. Prior to the construction phase of this project, an analysis was performed which showed that the marginal dock needed to be completely replaced and the seawall cap removed and reconstructed. The seawall will be reconstructed and raised approximately twenty inches to account for sea level rise, wave marine vessel wave action and king tide events.
This recommendation complies with the City Code of Ordinances.

Finance recommends approval.
Funding Source:
Funding will be available from account number 334-4126-572.63-90 (General Construction Fund: Other Improvements) after budget transfer and pending the mid-year budget amendment. Funding will be made available through the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), which will amend the current Interlocal Agreement (ILA) to include this amount.
