Background:
On October 1, 2016 the Florida Sheriff’s Association, Florida Association of Counties awarded Contract #FSA16-VEH14.0 to Southern Sewer Equipment Sales and Service, Inc. for cab and chassis trucks and other fleet equipment. The contract is valid through September 30, 2017. The Environmental Services Department, Fleet Division is requesting approval to purchase one 2017 Schwarze A7 Regenerative Street Sweeper, Specification #55. The proposal includes the Freightliner M-2 Cab and Chassis on which it is mounted. The street sweeper will be added to the City fleet to support the operations and maintenance of the stormwater management system. The new Schwarze equipment is replacing a 2009 GMC/Johnston street sweeper that is at the end of its useful life.
Southern Sewer Equipment Sales and Service, Inc., has certified that the prices offered are the lowest to any other governmental entity within the State of Florida.
This recommendation complies with the City's Purchasing Policies and Procedures Manual.
