Background:

On April 14, 2017, the City advertised a Request for Qualifications No. 2017-048 for Continuing Engineering, Surveying, and Landscaping Architectural Consulting Services. Proposals were evaluated based upon the criteria in the RFQ. There were no significant clarifications or further explanations of qualifications needed by the committee for firms with scores within the competitive range after the initial technical evaluations. Therefore, the committee elected not to conduct interviews. The final ranking of firms for each discipline is attached. Contract negotiations were performed with the firms regarding their respective hourly rates.

Based on the number of anticipated projects over the Agreement term and diversity of types of projects required by the City, staff is recommending approval to award Agreements to thirty companies. A sample of the Agreement template is included with this item.  Service Authorizations will be issued for services under the Agreements and will include the scope of work to be performed and the budget cost.

The Agreement terms are five years from August 1, 2017 through July 31, 20 May 23, 2020 with one, two-year option to renew.

This recommendation complies with the City Code of Ordinances, Section 36.02,  "Commission Approval Required".
