Motion to Award a construction agreement to MBR Construction, Inc. for the 100' Christmas Tree Foundation in a not to exceed amount of $180,128 (Project No. 17-062).

Background:
On June 19, 2017 Purchasing issued an Invitation to Bid Construction, No. 2017-060 for the 100' Christmas Tree Foundation Project. One bid was received from MBR Construction, Inc. on July 18, 2017. Therefore, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder is MBR Construction, Inc. in the amount of $180,128.
This project includes the construction and installation of the concrete foundation to support the new 100' aluminum tree, electrical upgrades, as well as necessary site improvements to accommodate the new aluminum tree at its new location.
This recommendation complies with City Code of Ordinance No. 21-17, Section 36.02, "Commission Approval Required".

Approved as to form and legal sufficiency.
Finance Department Review:
Finance recommends approval.
Funding Source:
Funding to account number 334-90-260-572-63.90 (General Construction Fund: Other Improvements) in the amount of $180,128 will be provided by the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) through an amendment to the Interlocal Amendment with the City of Delray Beach.
Timing of Request:
Completion of the concrete foundation (as soon as possible) is of the upmost importance due to the established delivery of the aluminum tree by 9/29/17 to meet the 2017 Holiday Season.
