Motion to Approve a one-year Agreement with PVS Technologies, Inc. for the purchase of Ferric Chloride Solution in an annual not-to-exceed amount of $300,000 utilizing the Palm Beach County Term Contract No. 10435RC.

Background:
On July 2, 2014, Palm Beach County, Florida, awarded a contract to PVS Technologies, Inc. for the purchase and delivery of liquid Ferric Chloride Solution (#14-035R/SWC) at a unit price of $1.47 per gallon. The contract was for one year through July 1, 2015, with renewal options of four additional twelve month periods. Palm Beach County has exercised the third annual renewal option, extending the contract through July 1, 2018.
Ferric Chloride is used in the water treatment process by providing enhanced coagulation, turbidity control, and color elimination. Staff estimates the annual cost of liquid ferric chloride at $300,000.
This recommendation complies with the City Code of Ordinances Chapter 36, "Commission Approval Required" and Purchasing Policies, Accessing Contracts from Other Government Agencies and Not-for-Profit Organizations.
