Background:
Request consideration for approval of Service Authorization (SA) No. 12-03.3, as Amendment No. 3, with Calvin, Giordano and Associates, Inc in the amount of $13,443.63 for additional professional design services related to the NE 3rd Street Streetscape Project, P/N 11-024.
The goal of the overall project, which is funded by the CRA, is to provide streetscape enhancements and pedestrian friendly facilities to connect the two City owned parking lots on NE 3rd Avenue with other locations to the south such as the Arts Garage.
Amendment No. 3 includes the aforementioned additional design services. Prepare plans of the revised sketches to be given to each property owner showing what improvements will be in the easement areas. Additional field work will also be obtained to locate all of the building fronts including all changes of the wall alignment. The building faces will be utilized in the preparation of Sketches of Description for use by the City in obtaining easements for the installation and maintenance of the pavers and ADA ramps.
The completion dates for the work will be as follows (starting at written notice-to-proceed) and to be completed by September 30th, 2017.
The recommendation for award is in compliance with Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36, Section 36.02(C)(3). The City utilized engineering consultants retained via RFQ #2012-06 for our Capital Improvement Program as well as for other smaller projects that arise during the course of the fiscal year. The Consultant retained by the City via RFQ #2012-06 (City Project #12-057). The original agreement, with the Consultant, was executed on January 24, 2012. Amendment No. 2 was executed in January 2015 extending the agreement through January 2016. This recommendation is in compliance with Purchasing Code Section 36.06(A)(1) Change Orders Beyond Scope of Work.
