Motion to Approve application for the 2017 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant in the amount of $32,603.

 

Body

Background:

The Police Department is asking approval to apply for the 2017 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant in the amount of $32,603. If awarded, these funds will assist in funding police overtime for the annual Holiday Robbery Task Force.

 

City Attorney Review:

Approved as to form and legal sufficiency.

 

Finance Department Review:

Finance recommends approval.

 

Funding Source:

The reimbursable overtime for FY 17/18 will be funded in  001211505211420 account. Reimbursement is provided through the U.S. Department of Justice's Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program.

 

Timing of Request:

This request is time sensitive due to application deadline of September 5, 2017.
