Motion to recommend nomination for an appointment for one (1) student member to serve on the Education Board for a one (1) year term ending July 31, 2018.

Background:
There are two (2) vacancies on the Education Board for student members to serve a one (1) year term ending July 31, 2017. Nomination for appointment is needed for one (1) student member to serve an unexpired term ending July 31, 2018. Please be advised that there is only one student applicant at this time.
Members of the Education Board must be a resident of the City, own property, own or operate a business within the City or have a child attending Delray Beach public schools. It is the intent, whenever possible, that the membership include persons with a background in business, real estate and/or education.

A check for code violations and/or municipal liens was conducted. None were found. Students are not registered to vote.
Based on the rotation system, the nomination for appointment will be made by Commissioner Petrolia (Seat #1) for one (1) student member to serve a one (1) year term ending July 31, 2018.
