NOMINATION FOR APPOINTMENT TO THE GENERAL EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT FUND COMMITTEE

Motion to approve a nomination for appointment for one (1) regular member to serve on the General Employees Retirement Fund Committee for an indefinite term.

Background:

Mr. Stephen R. Swank, regular member of the General Employees Retirement Fund Committee, resigned effective August 18, 2017.  The resignation is attached for your review.  This creates a vacancy for a regular member. Nomination for appointment is needed for one (1) regular member to serve an indefinite term.   

 

Section 35.105 of the Code provides that the plan will be administered by the Retirement Committee consisting of five members.  One member shall be the Finance Director of the City.  The Commission appoints four members, three of whom may, but need not, be employees of the City and one that may, but need not, be an employee of the City or the Mayor or City Commissioner.  Each appointed member serves until a successor is appointed in like manner. 

 

The following individuals have submitted an application and would like to be nominated for appointment:

A check for code violations and/or municipal liens was conducted.  None were found.  Voter registration verification was completed and all are registered.

 

Based on the rotation system, the nomination for appointment will be made by Mayor Glickstein (Seat #5) for one (1) regular member to serve on the General Employees Retirement Fund Committee for an indefinite term.
