INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH AND THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY (CRA) FOR FUNDING OF AN ENGINEERING INSPECTOR POSITION

Motion to approve interlocal agreement between the City of Delray Beach (City) and the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) for funding of the Engineering Inspector Position in the amount not to exceed $75,000.

 

Body

Background:

The Interlocal Agreement provides funding for the Engineer Inspector Position in which the CRA will contribute 100% of the actual cost for one year up to and including September 30,  2018. This position will be dedicated to providing constructability review, construction oversight, inspection administration on all CRA funded infrastructure projects within the CRA District.

 

The following is a sample of CRA projects that may be handled by the Engineering Inspector:

 

                     Sidewalk design and construction throughout the Community Redevelopment Area

                     Roadway reconstruction projects within The Set and other locations

                     SW 3rd court, SW 4th Street, SW 6th Street, SW 7th Avenue, and associated alleyway design and construction

                     Alleyway design and construction

                     Pompey Park Master Plan implementation and other park improvements

                     Osceola Park Neighborhood improvements

 

City Attorney Review:

Approved as to form and legal sufficiency.

 

Finance Department Review:

Finance recommends approval.

 

Funding Source:

Funding is available from the CRA, 100% of the cost of the position for FY 17-18.

 

Timing of Request:

There is a time sensitivity to the interlocal agreement.
