Motion to Approve Service Authorization No. 17-02 with Wantman Group, Inc. in a not-to-exceed amount of $99,493.64 for the City of Delray Beach (City) Marina seawall civil off-site improvements (Project No. 16-098).

Background:
As a result of many years of seasonal high tide events, the City Marina has experienced structural damage to the existing boat docks along with minor damage to the existing seawall. Furthermore, continual wave action from boat wakes through this stretch of the Intracoastal Waterway has exacerbated the structural damage to the existing docks. During high tides, water levels in the Intracoastal Waterway have overtopped the seawalls resulting in damage to the grounds and infrastructure at the City facility.

This Scope of Services includes areas west of the proposed new seawall and docks which include: modification to existing walkways and sidewalks for ADA Compliance, stormwater management engineering and permitting with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), public outreach requirements, and construction administration.

On April 14, 2017, the City advertised Request for Qualifications (RFQ) No. 2017-048 for Continuing Engineering, Surveying, and Landscaping Architectural Consulting Services for design of the major improvements to the seawall and dock facilities at the City Marina. This project will design solutions to additional issues discovered during the initial investigations.
