Title
APPROVAL OF AMENDMENT NO. 1 WITH THE BANCORP BANK FOR POLICE VOLUNTEER VEHICLES LEASE

Body
Recommended Action:
Recommendation
Motion to approve Amendment No. 1 with The Bancorp Bank to extend the Agreement from November 11, 2017 through March 11, 2018 for police volunteer vehicles lease in an amount not-to-exceed $10,000.

Body
Background:
On November 12, 2014, the City issued an Agreement for police volunteer vehicles lease (BID No. 2014-29) effective through November 11, 2017. The lease is for nine (9) vehicles used by the Police Volunteer Program to patrol neighborhoods and throughout the City, monitor parking lots and garages, provide a high visibility presence in shopping centers, and monitor sites identified as potential risk locations. Leased vehicles took about 60 days to get delivered from the factory, which caused our lease to actually start in January of 2015 instead of November 12, 2014, however the Agreement term states that the lease shall be for thirty-six (36) months commencing date of Agreement.
Research has been done to see if utilization of contracts awarded by other governmental agencies (Or Not-For-Profit organizations) is an option, and new solicitation has been deemed to be in best interest of the City.

The company has agreed to extend the Agreement through March 11, 2018 in an amount not-to-exceed $10,000 to allow the City time to solicit for a new agreement for services.

This motion is in accordance with the City Code of Ordinances, Section 36 and City Policies and Procedures, Change Orders and Amendments; Contracts must be amended in the same manner in which they were executed.
