Motion to approve Resolution No. 40-18 in support of the Local Initiatives Program grant application submitted to the Palm Beach Transportation Planning Agency (TPA) for Linton Boulevard (A1A to U.S. 1) and Germantown Road (South Congress Avenue to Old Germantown Road).

Background:
The Palm Beach TPA administers two competitive application processes annually for the funding of projects located within Palm Beach County. The application process typically commences in December, when the TPA posts online application materials. The application for this project was approved by the City Commission and submitted in March. The application is pending ranking and potential recommendation for funding by the TPA staff, advisory committees and ultimately by the TPA Board. Scoring criteria is based on the Goals, Objectives and Values of Directions 2040, the Palm Beach TPA's Long Range Transportation Plan.

Two applications may be submitted for each grant program. Only the application with the highest score will receive the award. The LI grants limits awards to no less than $250,000 and a maximum of $5,000,000.

This project will include the installation of improved pedestrian facilities, protected bicycle facilities where feasible and bike lanes or sharrows where constricted, pedestrian-scaled lighting, and landscaping.
