Background:
On December 14, 2017, the City of Delray Beach (City) advertised an Invitation to Bid No. 2018-007 for the Old School Square HVAC & Electrical Upgrades, Project No. 17-092. Three large HVAC units that serve the Old School Square Fieldhouse and the Crest Theater have exceeded their useful lifespan and are in danger of failure. Replacing these units is required to provide uninterrupted service to the Old School Square Field House and Crest Theater, allowing the Old School Square to keep commitments to events that have been scheduled in these facilities. Five (5) bids were received from Marvi Builders, LLC, Cedars Electro-Mechanical, Inc., and Koldaire, Inc., Onel Construction, and Advanced Roofing, Inc.
Proposals were evaluated based upon the criteria in the Invitation to Bid. The lowest and responsive bidder was Marvi Builders, LLC which proposed to perform the work for an amount not to exceed $372,574. The work is to be completed no later than 180 days after the notice to proceed is issued. City Staff has been in contact with Old School Square regarding the work. The days and times for the work to be accomplished on-site has been agreed to by Old School Sqaure so as to limit the distrubance and inconvenience to Old School Square employees and visitors of the complex.
