Motion to approve nominations for appointment for five (5) regular members to serve on the Education Board for two (2) year terms ending July 31, 2020 and one (1) student to serve an unexpired term ending July 31, 2019. Please note that there is only one (1) student applicant at this time.

Background:
The term for regular members Ms. Mercie Alcindor, Ms. Allison Castellano, Mr. Jervonte Edmonds, Ms. Raiko Knight, Ms. Catherine Reynolds and student members Miss. Serena Martin will expire on July 31, 2018. Ms. Allison Castellano and Ms. Reiko Knight will have served one (1) full terms,are eligible and would like to be nominated for reappointment. Ms. Catherine Reynolds and Mr. Jervonte Edmonds will have served one (1) full term and would not like to be nominated for reappointment. Ms. Mercie Alcindor will have served two (2) full terms and is not eligible for reappointment. Student Miss Serena Martin will have served one (1) full term and is not eligible for reappointment. Student members can only serve one (1) term. Nominations for appointment are needed for five (5) regular members to serve two (2) year terms ending July 31, 2020 and one (1) student member to serve an unexpired term ending July 31, 2019. Please note there is only one (1) student applicant at this time.
Members of the Education Board must be a resident of the City, own property, own or operate a business within the City or have a child attending Delray Beach public schools. It is the intent, whenever possible, that the membership include persons with a background in business, real estate and/or education.
