Title

AMENDMENT TO CRA BY-LAWS - MEETING DATES

Body

Recommended Action:

Recommendation

Approve the Amendment to Article III of the CRA By-Laws regarding Meetings of the Agency.

Body

Background:

On May 1, 2018, the City Commission approved Ordinance No. 06-18, which will provides for the following:

Allow for the City Commission to constitute the CRA.

The CRA Board of Commissioners (“CRA Board”) shall have all the powers to carry out the purposes of a Community Redevelopment Agency as described in Chapter 163, Part III of the Florida Statutes.

The CRA Board shall adopt bylaws or rules of procedure to govern the Board, which may include amending the existing CRA By-Laws, or adopting the Local Rules of the City Commission.

The Redevelopment Trust Fund that was previously created shall be maintained.

On May 7, 2018, the CRA Board discussed amending CRA By-Laws and board meeting dates.  The CRA Board stated that they would like CRA regular monthly meetings to be held on the second Tuesday of each month and directed CRA Staff amend the CRA By-Laws accordingly.

Attached is the draft CRA By-Laws which proposes the following amendments:

CRA regular monthly meeting shall be held on the second Tuesday of each month.

The Chair and Vice-Chair shall be appointed on an annual basis unless the City Commission determines that the Chair/Vice-Chair should serve a longer term pursuant to City Ordinance No. 06-18.
