Motion to approve nomination for appointment for one (1) alternate member to serve on the Green Implementation Advancement Board for an unexpired term ending July 31, 2019.

Background:
There is a vacancy on the Green Implementation Advancement Board due to Mr. Hal Stern being appointed for regular membership at the City Commission meeting on June 5, 2018. The term is unexpired ending July 31, 2019. Nomination for appointment is needed for one (1) alternate member to serve an unexpired term ending July 31, 2019.
On July 21, 2009, the Delray Beach City Commission adopted Resolution No. 24-09 establishing the Green Implementation Advancement Board for the purpose of making recommendations to the City Commission regarding ways to improve the environmental sustainability of City programs, services, equipment and facilities; strategies for improving the environmental sustainability of the community; incentives for residents, businesses, and organizations to practice environmental conservation including recycling; proposed means to enhance water and energy conservation; ideas for promotion of tree planting and xeriscaping; best practices to be considered for implementation in Delray Beach, including long-term strategies; and proposed revisions to City ordinances to address Green technologies.

The Green Implementation Advancement Board shall consist of five (5) regular members and two (2) alternate members. All members shall have expertise or an interest in environmental conservation and sustainability and shall be residents of or own property in the City, own a business within the City, or be an officer, director, or manager of a business located within the City.
