Motion to approve the Interlocal Agreement between the City of Delray Beach and Palm Beach County.

 

Body

Background:

During times of a declared state of emergency, as in a Hurricane, the County will open emergency shelters to house persons in need of a safe place during the declared emergency.  Municipalities with emergency shelters located in their city have agreed to staff the shelters with Emergency Medical Services (EMS) staff and advanced life support (ALS) equipment to provide for medical needs during a declared emergency.  The City of Delray Beach has an emergency shelter located at Atlantic High School, 2455 W. Atlantic Avenue.

Approved as to form and legal sufficiency.

 

Funding Source/Financial Impact:

Funding is available from the following source 001-22-150-526-14-10 Overtime and is reimbursable from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) through Palm Beach County.
