Background:
Each day in the United States, nearly 4,000 adolescents try their first cigarette and a reported fifty percent of high school students have tried cigarette smoking. One puff of a cigarette contains hundreds of harmful chemicals and over 69 known carcinogens that cause immediate harm to a person’s lungs and cardiovascular system and DNA, that may lead to illness or sudden death. The City of Delray Beach is proud to be a smoke free workplace and promotes healthy lifestyles for all employees.
