SPOTLIGHT ON EDUCATION - DELRAY STUDENTS FIRST

Background:
Delray Students First (DSF) is the education program being highlighted this month under Spotlight on Education. DSF will be presenting to the City Commission its mission, goals and accomplishments. They are a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) that began with afterschool tutoring at Village Academy in the 2012-13 school year and expanded into Atlantic High School in 2016 and is currently serving approximately 90 students. DSF’s focus is on tutoring underprivileged high school students on the ACT/SAT college admission exams and there is no charge to students for these services. DSF also conducts overnight college tours covering all Florida public universities. DSF will provide a PowerPoint to highlight some data points and further explain their program and successes under the presentation.
