Background:
The CRA awarded the Library a $343,000 A-GUIDE grant in the CRA FY 2017-18 budget which represents 15% of the Library’s $2,313,945 budget. The CRA also provided the Library an additional $110,000 this year to replace funding typically received from the City for a total funding of $453,000 which represents 20% of the Library’s annual budget. The A-Guide grant was awarded to support two programs: 1) Sundays and Mondays at the Library and 2) a Business Resource Center at the Library. Below are highlights and program snapshots from the Library’s 4Q FY 2017-18 A-Guide Report ending September 30, 2018.

Status of Other A-Guide Deliverables
1) Multi-lingual collateral materials: Spanish and Creole brochures were produced (see attached) and now provide a link to the Library’s and Small Business Development Center’s services for those in the business community that may be finding language a barrier to receiving services.
2) 3 Construction-Related Seminars: The Construction Seminar - Subcontractors’ Mini-Conference on October 13, 2018 - is also launching the City-CRA’s Go Build Delray Beach initiative to support building the capacity of the construction trade subcontractors in support of the many projects launching or coming to Delray Beach. Speakers for the conference will be successful construction entrepreneurs from the Delray Beach community providing insight as to how they have seen the opportunities and the demands of the industry shift over their decades of experience and what it will take for any member of the industry to successfully build their businesses.
