Body
Recommended Action:
Recommendation
Motion to Approve Ordinance No. 22-18 amending the Land Development Regulations at Section 4.6.7 “Signs”, as presented.
Body
Background:
The intent of the proposed amendments is to allow limited signage on parapets and to add aesthetic criteria regarding scale, design, and placement of signs. Currently, signage on parapets is included in the definition of roof signs, which are a prohibited type of sign. Several waivers have been approved between 2011 and 2016 to allow signage on parapets of buildings with flat roofs. The placement of signs above the parapet or on pitched or hipped roofs is still prohibited.
The Planning and Zoning Board reviewed Ordinance No. 22-18, as presented, on September 17, 2018, and recommended approval to the City Commission by a vote of 6-0.
